The Armstrong-Mauldin House corner of Aiken and College avenues. | A pergola once stood on the grounds of the historic Armstrong-Mauldin House. The Woman’s Club of Rock Hill invites you to share in the rebuilding of this beautiful structure. | |||
The club is the proud owner since 1971 of the Armstrong-Mauldin House in the Charlotte Avenue/Aiken Avenue Historic District which was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Built in 1921, the house serves as our clubhouse and is available to the public for weddings, receptions, meetings and other events. Major improvements were made to the house interior and exterior and landscaping was added for the Designer Showhouse in 2002. The club continues to enhance its property by launching a project to restore the formal gardens installed by the Mauldin family in the1930s. Plans are to rebuild the pergola, restore the reflecting pool and lily pond, add landscaping and make improvements to adjacent areas. At the same time, the club continues its many community projects implementing the programming guidelines of the Federation. |
